Volcano · FinOps Profile

Volcano Finops

FinOps view of Volcano - the project itself has no licensing or invoice surface (Apache 2.0, CNCF incubating). Costs of running Volcano- scheduled workloads accrue at the underlying compute, GPU, network, and storage layers of the host Kubernetes cluster (cloud or on-prem). The FinOps levers are queue capacity, gang-schedule efficiency, and bin-packing of batch workloads onto the underlying infrastructure.

Volcano Finops is the FinOps profile for Volcano on the APIs.io network, aligned with the FinOps Foundation Framework.

It defines 3 billable meters, billed in USD, on a continuous settlement cycle, and pricing category open source.

The profile maps 7 FOCUS columns for cost-allocation reporting.

Tagged areas include Open Source, Kubernetes, Batch Scheduling, HPC, and FinOps.
