Synapse · FinOps Profile

Synapse Finops

FOCUS-aligned FinOps for Synapse - the software is free (AGPL-3.0) so all cost is operator-borne infrastructure. The billing surface is the operator's underlying compute, database, media storage, and federation egress invoice rather than a Synapse-issued invoice. Element Server Suite is a separately-priced commercial distribution.

Synapse Finops is the FinOps profile for Synapse on the APIs.io network, aligned with the FinOps Foundation Framework.

It defines 5 billable meters, billed in USD, on a continuous (operator infra) cycle, and pricing category open-source (operator-hosted).

The profile maps 5 FOCUS columns for cost-allocation reporting.

Tagged areas include Matrix, Open Source, Messaging, FinOps, and FOCUS.
